Wondering what you can find at St. Albert Public Library?
We can fill all the traditional roles you'd expect: lots of books, newspapers and magazines, space to study, knowledgeable staff to help with information and reading suggestions, storytime for children and books for first time readers. If you haven't been to the Library lately, we want to tell you about all the new things we have to offer. Have you heard about these?
Interlibrary Loans: We participate in a service whereby libraries across Alberta and Canada lend books or microfilm to patrons upon request. If you can't find what you're looking for in the Library catalogue go to TAL online and search there. You can place a request through TAL online. If you cannot find the item you want there, call us on 780-459-1682 and we will try and help you.
Career Resource Centre: Thanks to a partnership with the Government of Alberta the Library is able to offer many services to residents looking to change careers or start a new job. You can use a computer to type up and print your resume, search online job resources, fax your resume to potential employers and read tips on how to craft a better resume - all for free! Internet Stations, Wireless Internet and Computer Training: We have approximately 30 computers for you to use, located in both the adult and children's departments. Using your own laptop in the Library is easy with our free wireless service, LibraNet, available throughout the building. No sign on, no passwords and you can stay online as long as you like. Programs for children, teens and adults: We offer a range of programs on a regular basis. From computer courses to craft sessions; from poetry reading to popular hobbies. Check out the Events Calendar to find out what's on when, or browse the Library Newsletter which has a comprehensive listing of all the programs for the upcoming month.
Love reading but need some extra help? We offer assistive technology devices for those with print disabilities. Whether you suffer from low vision or are simply no longer able to hold a book, the Library has many ways to help you bring the joy of reading back into your life.
